OK, so here is my latest endeavor. I shot Mary Beth & James this weekend. They were a fun couple who were up for anything. I got to try some unique lighting set-ups and I am very pleased with the outcome. Trying some new more edgy editing techniques. Hope everyone likes them.

Brandi, Butch, Maddi, and Mason!....and an update on where I've been....

I haven't been blogging in such a long time but I have resolved to make a concerted effort to try and post more often. I have been so busy these last few months attending workshops and trade shows that I just have not had time to keep up with all this social media. I recently attended a two day workshop with Kris Gay. The class was awesome. I learned so much and I plan on implementing it into my work-flow as well. Also, just this past Thursday I attended David Ziser's Digital wake-up call with Sumor George. She and I had a great time in Nashville and I think we learned a lot and were inspired to keep at it. (at least I know I was). Which brings me to today. I had a great session with some really special people this evening. I had so much fun shooting with this family and I think we got some really great shots. Now off to bed as I have an 8a.m. session with the Shockley family and then a 3 p.m. session with the Young's. Both shoots are planned to take place at two new locations that I haven't shot at before. I can't wait to get going!

Busy Week Ahead!

Just wanted to put up a new post with a couple of images I shot today. I was testing my lighting gear that I recently purchased and of course my go-to models were none to happy to assist. Capture and Creativity

Hey all,
Just had a great weekend and I attended a wonderful seminar called Capture And Creativity. It was held at Dury's http://www.durys.com/index.html in Nashville, Tn. The seminar was by the world renowned photographers/artist team of Clay Blackmore http://www.clayblackmore.com/ and Jane Conner-Ziser http://www.janesdigitalart.com/. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who can attend. This week I am stoked to try out all the new stuff I learned at this workshop. Hope everyone had a great weekend and let's have a wonderful action packed week.

Weekend Wedding!

I just wanted to share with you a recent wedding photo. I shot this wedding in Paducha, Kentucky last weekend. I had a blast. Homestead 8th Grade Prom

I am so excited to share with you pics of Christopher and Ivey...They had their 8th Grade Prom last night and i was lucky enough to share it with them. Can you believe these kids are just graduating 8th grade? My how times have changed. I can remember my 8th grade banquet. I believe it was a luau theme and we all wore Hawaiian shirts and shorts. So much fun but years ago. I would also like to send a congratulations out to all the graduates of 2009 albeit kindergarten, 8th grade, high school senior, or college. I would also like to remind everyone to remember their senior pics for the graduating class of 2010. I will be announcing specials starting next week.

Lighting Essentials Workshop in Nashville

This weekend i attended the Lighting Essentials Workshop http://www.learntolight.com/ in Nashville, Tn taught by Don Giannatti. Let me just start off by saying that I learned so much. The workshop was well worth the cost. Don was amazing and hopefully has helped to take my photography to a whole new level. I met so many wonderful and talented individuals and we became fast friends. Now i know it is not so much about the tools you have but how you use them. Here are a couple from the workshop. Enjoy!

So I am new to the whole blogging concept, so I will start by giving some basic info about me. My name is Brooks Holloway. I am a photographer in middle/east Tennessee. I have been shooting for about 4-5 years now. Photography is my passion. I love everything it entails. I love taking a moment in time and capturing it for preservation for my client. People remember events in their lives by photos and I love being there with them thru the process. I feel that I become part of their life in the process. I live one mile from beautiful Fall Creek Falls State Park and often shoot there. It is truly a remarkably beautiful place. If you have never been I highly recommend it.
