Crazy but it looks like I cannot get into this blogging routine. Evidently, consistency is not my strong suit when it comes to blogging. Also, I have been very busy these last couple of months with work and continuing to learn all that I can about my passion of photography. This coupled with the fact that my parents are in the process of building a new house has caused me to be short on time and short on post. I resolve to improve the quality and quantity of my post here at http://brookshollowayphotography.blogspot.com/ .

I had so much fun with her and her mother capturing her prom images that we got to running a little late. Thankfully she was not late for her own prom. Many props to Barry Brown of Barry Brown Photography http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=1197258285&ref=ts for the use of his studio in Crossville, Tn. We could have never gotten the shots we did with the wind gusting 25 mph that day.

OK, so here is my latest endeavor. I shot Mary Beth & James this weekend. They were a fun couple who were up for anything. I got to try some unique lighting set-ups and I am very pleased with the outcome. Trying some new more edgy editing techniques. Hope everyone likes them.

I haven't been blogging in such a long time but I have resolved to make a concerted effort to try and post more often. I have been so busy these last few months attending workshops and trade shows that I just have not had time to keep up with all this social media. I recently attended a two day workshop with Kris Gay. The class was awesome. I learned so much and I plan on implementing it into my work-flow as well. Also, just this past Thursday I attended David Ziser's Digital wake-up call with Sumor George. She and I had a great time in Nashville and I think we learned a lot and were inspired to keep at it. (at least I know I was). Which brings me to today. I had a great session with some really special people this evening. I had so much fun shooting with this family and I think we got some really great shots. Now off to bed as I have an 8a.m. session with the Shockley family and then a 3 p.m. session with the Young's. Both shoots are planned to take place at two new locations that I haven't shot at before. I can't wait to get going!

Just wanted to put up a new post with a couple of images I shot today. I was testing my lighting gear that I recently purchased and of course my go-to models were none to happy to assist. Capture and Creativity

Hey all,
Just had a great weekend and I attended a wonderful seminar called Capture And Creativity. It was held at Dury's http://www.durys.com/index.html in Nashville, Tn. The seminar was by the world renowned photographers/artist team of Clay Blackmore http://www.clayblackmore.com/ and Jane Conner-Ziser http://www.janesdigitalart.com/. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who can attend. This week I am stoked to try out all the new stuff I learned at this workshop. Hope everyone had a great weekend and let's have a wonderful action packed week.

Weekend Wedding!

Hey all,

I just wanted to share with you a recent wedding photo. I shot this wedding in Paducha, Kentucky last weekend. I had a blast. I shot it with my friend Eric Hobbs. http://erichobbsphotography.com/ He is such a super guy and has a very nice wife and terrific son. Jessica and Tanner were awesome. They made me feel like part of the family. The bride and groom were also extremely nice as well. I enjoyed it so much that i am planning on going back to shoot some more. Homestead 8th Grade Prom

I am so excited to share with you pics of Christopher and Ivey...They had their 8th Grade Prom last night and i was lucky enough to share it with them. Can you believe these kids are just graduating 8th grade? My how times have changed. I can remember my 8th grade banquet. I believe it was a luau theme and we all wore Hawaiian shirts and shorts. So much fun but years ago. I would also like to send a congratulations out to all the graduates of 2009 albeit kindergarten, 8th grade, high school senior, or college. I would also like to remind everyone to remember their senior pics for the graduating class of 2010. I will be announcing specials starting next week.

It seems that all it took was me putting my nose to the grindstone and getting it done. I have been putting it off for so long and now that it is up it kinda seems anti-climatic. oh well....So check out the site and if anyone has any comments or critiques please let me know. This weekend i attended the Lighting Essentials Workshop http://www.learntolight.com/ in Nashville, Tn taught by Don Giannatti. Let me just start off by saying that I learned so much. The workshop was well worth the cost. Don was amazing and hopefully has helped to take my photography to a whole new level. I met so many wonderful and talented individuals and we became fast friends. Now i know it is not so much about the tools you have but how you use them. Here are a couple from the workshop. Enjoy!

So I am new to the whole blogging concept, so I will start by giving some basic info about me. My name is Brooks Holloway. I am a photographer in middle/east Tennessee. I have been shooting for about 4-5 years now. Photography is my passion. I love everything it entails. I love taking a moment in time and capturing it for preservation for my client. People remember events in their lives by photos and I love being there with them thru the process. I feel that I become part of their life in the process. I live one mile from beautiful Fall Creek Falls State Park and often shoot there. It is truly a remarkably beautiful place. If you have never been I highly recommend it.
